Backchannelling

What is backchannelling.?  Backchannelling is a way to maintain a real-time online conversation alongside live spoken remarks.

 

There are a number of backchannelling tools available.  Chatzy.com  is a site that allows you to create secure, private virtual rooms that can allow a large number of students to gather in real time to chat together.

 

Here's a good article about how to use a backchannel in the classroom.

 

 

NOW LET'S DO IT!

 

We will be using Chatzy to demonstrate how you can use backchanneling in your classroom.

Go to First Class and look for a message inviting you to the chatroom.  We will be taking a look at the following video and as we watch it, I would invite you to make some comments.
